2009-2010 Affiliations

Please ensure you follow the MHAC rules on the use of affiliates. Failure to do so will result in a penalty of using an ineligible player with serious consequences...I will leave it up to you to look up THAT rule!

The following MHAC rules apply to the use of Affiliates. Please consult your "WHITE BOOK" and read them carefuly.

This procedure deals with the consequences of using ineligible players (i.e. players NOT on the approved affiliation list)




THE AFFILIATION PROCESS

The team affiliation list is determined once all teams have been formed and coaches, division coordinators and the Hockey Development reps determine the appropriate affiliations. To simplify the process a template is available and if there are no changes the affiliation is submitted according to the template. Each team/division submits their requested affiliations. Affiliating one team to one team is the simplest and fasted method. However there are occasions where a team may want to affiliate one or a number of players to a particular team. In this case all players on the team must be named as to which team they will be affiliated.

Once ALL team affiliations are submitted to BHA and approved by BHA, the association submits the list to Hockey Calgary for final approval. Only the PRESIDENT is advised of the HC approval. Each division coordinator will be informed by the President that the affiliation list is approved. Coaches can then and ONLY then use affiliates.

Affiliate players CANNOT be used until the BHA affiliations have been approved by Hockey Calgary.

During the preseason exhibition games affiliates CANNOT be used. The affiliation list will be submitted to Hockey Calgary once ALL team's affiliations have been submitted to BHA. We do not submit one team at a time.

The approved affiliation list should be available approximately mid November.
